To summarize the initial feedback I have received, Installing LightScribe Software is no easier on Windows 11 than it was on 8.1 or 10. Additionally, all the Free Labeling Software is 32 bit as well. Just in case you did not know, the reason this is critical for LightScribe is that the LightScribe System Software is 32 bit software so no matter what Labeling software you use, you need this to install for LightScribe to work. Apple’s last two Mac OS versions Big Sur and Monterey will not allow 32 bit software to install – Thankfully Microsoft has not gone down that route with Windows 11. Compared to Apple, Microsoft has not stopped older software (32 bit) the ability to install and run on Windows 11. It has been just over 2 months and I have receive some initial feedback from LightScribe users who have ‘upgraded’ to Windows 11 and their experience with trying to get LightScribe to work on Microsoft’s latest offering. The older your PC is, the longer you’ll probably have to wait. The newer your device is, the sooner you’re likely to have access to the update. Windows 11 will continue rolling out through mid-2022.
